It doesn't matter which folder you unzip the program into as it's portable. However, it is recommended to unzip it in a non-system directory. This is because some features involving preset editing require access to the program's folder.

Tools work with the selected addon, except for the Hotkey Editor, which is unaffected by it.
Clicking the Edit map button will launch Hammer with selected addon and open the vmap file with your addon name.
For example, if your addon is de_test, it will open maps/de_test.vmap.
